New Super Clown takes to the air.....

Thought I would post a picture of my new Super Clown. It was built from a Brodak kit and is powered with a stock LA 25. The muffler is an aftermarket tube muffler that I picked up used. I think it may be a Big Art muffler, but can't swear to that. The covering is silkspan with all Brodak dope finish.

Got the first two flights on it this morning. With the LA 25 running where it likes to run, and using 60' lines, the airplane is a little fast for my liking. I am going to do a little experimenting with props to slow down the airplane while still allowing the motor to run in its "sweet spot". The airplane may be just a very little bit tail heavy, however I am not going to fool with the CG until I get it slowed down to suit me.

Overall, I think it will make me a good OTS flyer.

Today I was using a T/F 9-5. I neglected to check my box of spare before going to the field. Had everything except what I needed. I want to try a 9-4, 10-4 and 10-5. I am not a prop expert by any means, so it be a trial and error process. Any suggestions?

Did you MCLS guys get the word about the Coastal Control Liner's contest in Jacksonville next month?

Yep that's it... APC 9x4 is the best!

Nice Clown! I like the way you finished it, it looks good. I have a Super Clown/FP25 but it is about beat and ready to fall apart I flew it that much. I learned how to do the pattern with it. I also flew mine in Old Time up to last year but i had flaps on mine. I saw some fly without them and didn't make a difference with or without. I just build a viking and have it flying good so far for this year in Old time. I have another super clown kit. I might build it this summer.
