Big Problem

The big problem is I don't have an airplane for it and I build as slow as cold syrup. As long as that's the bigest problem, I guess I'm not too bad off.

The LA-46 seems to be pretty good in my TM 50 right now, most of the sorting out now seems to be regarding prop and noseweight. I was using a rev up 12x5 down at KOI but I'm gonna try an APC 12.25x3.75 this weekend. At about 570 squares and 49 ounces I'm not sure I need much more power in that job. I'm running 64'10" lines right now and could probably go longer.

I thought about either a KA-11 or Avanti 50 for the Tigre 51. Those motors are stout, or at least the one my flying buddy here has, and the one that was in your USA-1. My buddies stock .51 pulled a Sig Magnum with ease.

I'm repairing the wing in the Yellow Nobler, I must be careful not to backslide and start flying it all the time again!

I need to call you one of these nights and talk to you about what to do with a Tigre 60 that happened to fall into my shopping bag at the local swapmeet.

Really I need to get work straightened out so I'm not here 15 hours a day. Its hard to build very much right now.....!

KA-10 or Avanti 50 (or a whole bunch more planes, Saturn, Impact, etc.,etc..) would be good choices for the ST 51.

St 60..... too many planes to list!! LOL!!

I know many are flying the "full size" TM with Double Star .60's, but I think the ST will be fine at 56 ounces. If not, then I'll install the RoJett .61 that I loaned to Jim Pollack.

I would cast a vote for the Avanti if it was my money to spend.

I need to build my T-Bird II for my LA .46 that's waiting paitently for it. Then there is always one of the nicest looking planes ever built that would like to have my other LA .46 in it.....the Warden Continental.....and....

I know what you mean Steve, I'm stuck here in Long Beach until tomorrow 20 March, then back to work in Alexandria for about two weeks and then zip right back out to Long Beach and get on the Launch Platform for another sojurn to the south pacific for the launch of Direct TV-7.

My only solace on this trip is an extremely slim possibility that I could exit via charter flight from Christmas Island through Honolulu! If that happnes I will be back about May 4th, if not about the 10th or 11th.

Wow Jim, like the guy said in Lonesome Dove, you're a traveling s.o.b.(!) Maybe you need to get on the Atlas 5 program and launch from the Cape!

I don't feel so bad about missing construction time. Five minutes a night beats none at all!

Walter Umland's Cobra kit is now ready... you might get one of those... (I'm eagerly awaiting mine...)
