More ARF Nobler

In the last issue of SN (March/April), Alan wrote about his experience with an ARF Nobler. The thing that jumped out at me was he set his up with a removable wing despite the disclaimers.

How many of you have set yours up this way and have you had any problems?

You can read the source of the review on the SSW review page. I took me two paragraphs of the review to realize that it sounded familiar!

I have couple of comments about the removeable wing. I think I posted something here last year. I'll do a search and find it. It turns out that I smacked the Nobler when I started a maneuver with the engine running very rich, and it quit on me. The crash broke out the wing, so I was able to explore the structure. I was having no problems before the crash (other than having to "bush" the dowel since it seemed to be crushing a bit. I ended up replacing the leading edge between the center two ribs.

When I read the article in SN I thought it odd that there was no last name. There are a few "Alan's" that contribute so I wasn't sure who it was! I did a search of the review section and couldn't find your initial review. Might have gone away with one of the earlier system crashes.

I guess you and I will be the only people to have a removable wing Nobler Arf. Thanks again for the info.

You are right! The review has disappeared! Wow that means I lost two threads in the last server problem (the Nobler Review and my HyperViper Flies thread). Sounds like a conspiracy!

Well I am glad that Stunt News picked up the review. That is really one of the problems with electronic articles versus paper. Even if the paper yellows, it is still around.
