LAST EDITED ON Mar-19-04 AT 09:23 PM (CDT)

Made it down and back to VSC for my annual injection of eye candy and warm burnt castor.

It will take a while to process and post the better of the 168 photos taken.

In the mean time, here is a teaser for the SSWF faithful.

One of two Belfry Bounds leads a Trident in an early classic design display.

More later, once I get dinner and get them sorted out...

Gawrsh, that APC prop looks right normal on a Belfrey Bound...sitting there in the "Bizarre Concepts" section. Consider me teased! Eat fast, wouldja? Steve

Ah, Larry, you get better all the time. These are beautiful!

There isn't anywhere else I'd rather have been today, and I certainly missed our annual chat, the great flying, and those beautiful planes. Somehow, finishing and sanding in the basement didn't really measure up. Even with the excellent Brodak's, W.C., and Nationals still to come, VSC is still my favorite. Next year...!

If the field here isn't too soft, or under water, I might get out to fly tomorrow though. With fingers kept out of the prop, that should be another step forward.

Thanks for sharing.

RE: VSC 2K4 - The Teaser Poll#4 source
Dinner was late and my niece is in town and leaving today.

So while I am getting her to the airport, I'd like some feedback.

In the olden days (VSC 2K2, 2K3) I limited the width to 400 pixels or so to download time, server disk space and screen space in that order. Since then folks have gotten better systems and I have a better tool.

The two teaser shots are 500 pixels wide by however high.

This is an informal poll as to whether the kool kats at the SSWF would like to see the rest of these images at 500 wide or perhaps wider, say 550 or 600.

I've got the latest generation compression techniques available so I could make them wider without stepping on the server, if the won't make the screen unreadable.

Votes?

Larry, I did a poll over a year ago using the poll function just to see what screen settings people were using and nobody was at anything less than 640 x 480 at that time any more. Most all were at 800 or above, and I would think that would be the almost defacto minimum these days. But as long as you do the pictures at 640 width or below there should be absolutely no problems with anyone viewing them. And pictures of that size can be easily compressed to 20 to 25K.

Just remember, don't post too many on one thread because the down load time becomes accumulative. I usually don't recommend more than 5 pictures per (well, at the 50K limit) for this very reason. Too many pictures slow the load time considerably for those of us who are stuck on dial up.

Len:

That's exactly why I am asking.

I tend to put images in little clusters, like models or steps to illustrate a story or whatever.

I'm going to go as far as 550 for my work, compress the dickens out of them and then post my threads with anywhere from 4-8 pix a piece so that there is a happy compromise between download time and content. I don't want to end up with 50 threads when 8 will do and at the same time don't want a thread that takes too long to download.

Nice lens work.
It still really scares me that this particular Belfry Bound is covered in Moneykote and looks that good...

Ion,
That airplane is Carl Shoup's Belfry Bound. This one is metalic purple and pearl white monokote. He also has a cream and green one. Looks great in the air and Carl flew from a wheel chair. Fantastic performance and got a round of applause every time he flew.
