Real neat trophies at St. Louis this weekend.#0 source
LAST EDITED ON Sep-25-01 AT 07:44 AM (CDT)

Guys,
Here's some pics of the trophy I won last weekend. A big thanks to the Lafayette Esquardille for a great 2 day contest. The trophies were all hand made. There were some Star Wars, WWF, and other figures along with some airplanes, etc on the trophies. I'm hoping somebody got a good pic of all the trophies. Here is how they passed them out. They awarded the nameplates to 1st place in Expert first, then Advanced, and so on. When you got your nameplate, you went over to the trophy table and selected which one you wanted. Very neat and the club members spent some time making them. The WS is @ 3 inches and the wheels spin, the wing and stab are tissue covered, the prop has some pitch carved into it, etc. Great job L. E.!

Actually.....the nose is too long, the wheels are too far forward, the aerofoil is awful......
More seriously it is a neat trophy,
Crist, you must be pleased with it, as I am pleased for you, I have followed your past posts and I would like to say a sincere "Well done"

Crist,

The St. Louis club always seems to have really neat trophies! Did they have the "Black Feather" award this year? Did anyone (unfortunate) win it?

I really wanted to make this contest. My time has been severely limited this summer (lot's of interference with contest dates). I made a choice to skip the "Lost Cajun" in Chicago and attend the "Broken Arrow" in St. Louis. Unfortunately, I skipped "Lost Cajun" and family health problems in Wisc. caused me to miss this one as well. This is just a hobby.

Glad to see that you continue to improve. Keep it up and you'll soon be with us Advanced guys!

Hmm, so Fred, you wonder if the "Black Feather" was awarded. Now I wonder "Whoo" that might be?

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Fred, Sorry I missed you at St. Louis. We'll have to wait till next year.
Alan, No one won the Black Feather this year. There was a crash during practice the day before. Can you guess whoo? He bounced back well and took 2nd on Sunday.

Here is a picture of the trophies my sons and I won. These were made by Bob Arata. Others in the club made more conservative but equally creative trophies.
