Epoxy Tip

If your church uses small platic cups about 1.25 inches high for communion services, they make just perfect little containers for mixing epoxy. My church throws away about 300 every communion service.
I gather up a bag full, wash them, and then mix epoxy in them as needed.

I guess if you have your own church, you could use clean ones for epoxy, then use them for communion when the epoxy dries.

If you are using fast set epoxy it will set faster if you use one of those cups, plan ahead!

Party Max & similar stores have plastic throw away shot cups. I bought a sleeve of 250 cheap.

No fair diverting us from the original idea until we hear from Leonard.

How do you scrape the epoxy from the bottom of the cups?

I use plastic lids for margerine, of even and old postcard. I can get out all the epoxy.

Anyhow, most churches around here still use thosr little glass timbles, the deacons carry them on a tray that has holes on it to put them in.

I once sugested the use of the plastic cups, but the pastor's wife gave me a dirty look...

In the "hard line" Assemblies of God they use only one big silver cup, and people pass it around. Since it's grape juice, there's no danger of some brother dowin' a big "gulp" and gettin a buzz out of it.

but when I working as a full time deacon at the Nova Vida (New Life) church the other deacon was this spanish guy that liked to have more than 20cc of wine,so before teh servide he would help himself with a generous glass of wine...

but a good chance of catching hepatitis or meningitis.......YUCK.

I use the bottom of empty beer cans. Ooops, I mean pop cans. The shallow form keeps too much heat from building up and speeding the hardening process, and the aluminum helps radiate heat quickly, further increasing the working time. It's a win-win situation, and I can still recycle the cans. Steve

A nice story:

When I was living im Brasilia this couple got married, and the cerimony was celebrated by Friar Mateus, a pretty nice dominican priest.

The party ws held in the backyard of the churdh, but at some pont the drink was all gone.

Frei Mateus was not Jesus (he couldn't make wine out of water) , but he promptly came up with a bunch of communion wine bottles...
