GMA - GIESEKE NOBLERS - What is the diference ?

Besides using a thicker airfoil, what other mods did the O;d Bear perform on his Nobler?

Is The GMA Nobler's airfoil a NACA?

I'm not sure there is a definitive Gieseke Nobler. Basic iterations included the fractionally thicker wing, smaller flaps that are not full span, greater tail area, and slightly stretched moments, and the characteristic clipped vertical fin with a strake running up to the canopy. Typically the landing gear has been moved back and the tailwheel strut lengthened for better ground handling on paved surfaces. It would seem there has been a steady evolution in the Gieseke Nobler from around 1964 to whatever latest "Bear" Nobler Mr Gieseke is cooking up for this season. Wing areas for the Gieseke Nobler were normally in the 500-550 inch family, at least untill the big ones, but I don't know that much about that part of their development.

Something else out there had to have been the "Super Nobler", which may be a North East development, as it was Mr 69 Nats who mentioned that the Super Nobler wing was a popular starting point for some excellent late 60s designs up there, or at least thats what I thought he said, as I'd had a few beers by that point.

I do know that my '68 Gieseke Nobler is an awesome flyer, and I can't wait for the lousy weather here to quit so I can get it out again.

Your right, that's what I said and we had more than a few beers. It was fun till they aked us to get out and go to bed.
It was surely my jovial laughing which caused all the ruccus and complaints from the guests around the pool.
For all those who don't know, this was while we were partying Saturday Night at the King Orange meet in Florida.
I would love one of those nights at least twice a week.

Poor lady security guard seemed scared to death to say anything to us!! For a big hotel in a fairly large city, they sure rolled up the sidewalks early.

Oh yeah, as to the Noblers, I have always loved the ones I had whether Aldrich, Gieseke, or the upcoming Grondal.
