Darn Cox Engines.....

Now they put a hole in the Monocoat of my ARF Nobler!
Too much stuff on the workbench, shifting around and sure enough, a Golden Bee fell off the bench onto the wing of my Nobler.
A plane I've only flown once will now have a patch, if I can find the matching color at my local shop! Maybe I can cover it with some sort of decal...

I know it is being wise after the event... but putting planes on the floor at home is not a good idea.
Especially true if you have large dogs. Guess how I know this......

The color is Saphire Blue and is available. If the ARF Nobler did nothing else for Top Flite, it sure boosted the sale of this color Monokote and Lustercoat paint.

If it is an early production Nobler ARF, the color may be Insignia Blue. Take a swatch of it with you when you go to the LHC and make sure you get the color that matches.

I have one of the first Nobler production, and the instruction booklet says "Sapphire Blue". I actually bought a roll ot Sapphir Blue at the LHS, and it matches "reasonably" well.

I complained to my wife about having to by a roll just to patch one hole. She told me I almost used a whole roll patching one of my other planes, so she is sure I will use this roll also. Such faith!

You know how the rubber bands that hold tanks onto profile fuses rot over time. And you hang some of your models from the ceiling. And one of your best Magicians, paint job wise, lies right below the ever so slowly rotting rubber bands onm some junky Ringmaster Jr or something. And one day the tank falls, and, no, it can't simply hit the fuselage or tailfeathers.

That's nothing! In 1975 I had a green box nobler almost ready to cover. My middle son locked his new dog into my hobby room while the house was empty. THE DOG CHEWED MY NOBLER INTO TINY LITLE BITS!!!

I recall one gentleman (I think he still hangs out around here) saying he came home one day and started looking for his just finished Flite Streak in his work room- found the chewed shreds of what was left of it in the living room or den in the middle of a pile of dachshunds. His wife said it was his fault for leaving the airplane where the dogs had access to it.
I had a Siamese cat chew up a Scientific Ryan PT-20 (hollow log 1/2A- RARE today) kit years ago- cat left the area post haste shortly after that.
I had an X-acto knife roll off a workbench and go straight thru the wing of a model I had just finished silking. It stuck in the floor like a dagger- point first. I was NOT amused.

Had the same thing happen involving an E-acto knife except it missed any planes and stuck right into my bare foot. Could not have done that on purpose if I had tried.
Hung all planes from the wall today, the picture rail in my old house sure came in handy. Makes getting around in the work room easer. Just have to remember to check those rubber bands fron time to time, untill I get a rack built!

I KNOW that hurts!
I almost did that this morning, except I had the knife in my hand and it slipped as I was trying to trim something. It hit the floor sideways about 8 inches from my sandle clad but otherwise bare footsies.
