Fuel Tank for a SIG Magnum

I forget who makes/sells it, but I remember someone used to have these. (SIG or Brodak...possibly both?) I would prefer a uni-flo style tank. If you know the product number and cost that would be good, too.

Well, Taffender made them and Brodak bought out Taffender, but I think they dropped these. I did get a couple while they still had them. They are for sale, but this isn't the place to do this.

I snagged a tank designed for the Magnum off of eBay that was made by Smith's Model Products.

Which is no help because they are no longer in business.

I would check with Randy Smith. Most of his designs are set up for the Magnum tank, so he might still have a supply.

In the latest Brodaks catalog, #12-B, page 64, there is a series of uniflow tanks designated "Magnum Uniflow" with the overflow and uniflow lines coming down, out and up in a long gentle curve, unlike any other Brodak tank. Brodak by the way bought out the "Perfect" brand items too.
So, is this "Magnum Uniflow" tank for the Sig Magnum??
ps catlog #13 is going to be available at Brodaks Fly in this June, according to the lady I talked with last week.

I can't lay hands on my Brodak catalog, but that's a good description of the SMP Magnum tank.

The two lines come up above the top of the tank on what would be the inboard side and then curve directly into the airstream. I have no idea which is which. Or how, for that matter, to install/build the tank into the nose with the lines coming through the side of the fuselage.

Hi Cy,
When installed in the nose of a stock Sig Magnum, the uniflow and overflow lines on this tank set up come out right on the cowl breakline. The down, out, and up fit right in with very little trim hole needed. The "Top" line is uniflow, bottom is overflow. I always wrapped the two lines in the bottome bend with copper wire and soldered then together after the first one I had broke on the overflow line in the bottom bend. Kinda flimsy, but work real well on SVs and the Magnum.
