Zinger Pro Props

Has anyone used these for stunt flying? They appear to have a wider blade then the original Zinger in the mid section. Was wondering how they compare to the original Zinger.

I am a little wider in the mid section myself, so I wouldn't hold it against them. Are these made of wood? I am not aware of these being currently available, but I could be wrong. As to suitability, I never felt Zingers were a bad prop, but a little wider blade wouldn't hurt.

Zinger pros have been turning up in shops here in Virginia. They are wood, wider blade with a swept tip slightly evocative of the Power Point TF units, but not as dramatically swept. They still have that most excellent Zinger square leading edge and trailing edge, and would most likely benefit from a good bit of cleanup. I've bought a couple but have not tried any yet.

Leonard, they are a wood prop and look similar to a Menz prop.
I haven't seen anyone using them yet so I guess they are fairly new. Tower has them in stock so I'll order a few and do some comparing.

Well guy's to let you know LEO MEHL here in Portland has one on his 60 ship. ST-60 by Big Jim is swinging a 14x6 Zinger Pro. AND it has changed the performance through out his flight. It's like he has a new plane. So far with about 50 flights thumbs up. EVEN OLD GUY'S can learn new things.

I bit and bought a couple of "Pro" props along with some normal Zingers (a few months ago). I was disappointed with the Pro since you could take a "normal" Zinger and turn it into one of the Pro's with a little cutting and sanding. Definitely not worth the price differential. So I agree, the Zinger is a nice prop kit. This isn't a slam at Zinger, I think you would be hard pressed to make a blank for yourself out of a nice piece of wood for the price (of a "normal" Zinger). Just use the sanding block to smooth the edges, and thin the prop a bit. I used a 12-5 zinger to turn into a nice wide 11-5 prop for my Brodak 40. However I don't plan to buy any more "Pro's".

I bought some Zinger 11-6XW's, after seeing one on Keith Varley's Stalker .61 a couple years ago. They look quite nicely shaped compared to the usual Zinger, don't say Pro, don't have the swoopy tips. Less than $5. They have less blade than the RevUp EW, but might work well on G.51's or similar sized engines. Will get to test them soon, I hope. Steve
