Thought the picture below might be of interest. It is from the November 1948 issue of Model Airplane News. Sure Looks like the "Belfry Bound". Anyone(Carl Shoup)know if the original used an Triumph 49.

It is not the Belfry Bound. The tips are different. The sweep at the back is a lot wider and longer of the Belfry, the front of the tips are rounder. The nose is different. The plan shows a rear induction engine in profile but does not state which one. So that is not the engine, either. This design could be a predecessor, however, or maybe just a knock-off.
Did't quite look like the Belfry Bound I remembered, but looked close. Since it was from approximately the same design era it had me wondering.
No that is not the Belfrey Bound it is a plane that Davy Slagle?( I am not sure if I spelled his name right) made the Belfrey used a Atwood Glow Devil 61-63? I will be posting some photos ov my new Belfrey Bound when I get the making tape off. But for now here is Dale Kirn's.
A little birdy told me to keep an eye on RSM's website... There will be some new offerings after VSC. Can't tell you what they may be, wouldn't want to spoil a surprise...
I think Dave Cook flew something like that in Weymoutrn Mass in 1958. I remember it had a fox 59 and he flew it on 100' lines. Painted black I believe he called it the "BAT"
That's a cool looking plane!! Carl Shoup came to our contest a few years ago and few his then. Really quite a sight to see it fly!
What amazed me was he had the darn thing covered in Moneykote! I have some photos of it taken at a VSC- gorgeous model.
