That isn't a stock cylinder, it has been ground for a throttle. That was never done in the period when that engine was produced, and, in fact, RC systems were too big for that engine to haul around in those days.

Definitely not a stock item. (Mind you, I have a RR1.5 of my own, an RR1 bottom end with Tee Dee top - a real "runner" if I do say so, myself)

The RR-1'a are cool little engines and run darn good too! I have 1 myself but had 3 at one time. I am currently working on a custom drum rotor Cox engine myself based on the RR-1's timing. It will be a beam mount, rear drum rotor and have throttle I hope when it's all said and done.
