Couple of tubing questions

I have been using short pieces of the yellow plastic tubing that comes in packages of Pylon leadouts to make the slider for adjusable leadouts. It glues to plywood just fine. Does anyone know what this tubing is in real life?

Secondly, I've seen some teflon tubing that I think might serve the same function. Is there anything that will glue teflon to plywood?

I use the yellow nylon tubing for my adjustable leadouts also. I don't know if we are talking about the same stuff. The one I use is made or sold by "Sullivan" and your LHS will most likly have it or can get it for you. I like it better than the little brass tubes that many use. It's labeled GOLD-N-CABLE (Control Rod Set) We use it alot in the RC world. I usually have extra and will send you some if you wish.

The inner piece of Sullivan's Golden Rods #505 or 514 or Great planes GPMQ3710. It is used by the R/C guys to connect the servo to the control surface. Comes in a package of 2 that are 36 inches long I think the also have a 48" package . See your local hobby shop or tower catalog. I use it for my adjustable leadouts.

I wouldn't bother with Teflon. It is softer than wood and will probably wear or tear, and the friction reduction will be miniscule.

Try burning a piece of the tubing. If it smells like burning wool it is nylon(most likely) It may be polyester, in which case it will burn and smell like a soda bottle.
