new style line connectors

Was shopping for line connectors, and see the shape has changed. They are bent wire, like a thick paper clip.

The 'perfect' were listed made of aluminum, and the 'sullivan' looked different than the old style. Any opinions?

I believe that the most common types being used are the "scissor" type available from a variety of places....these are usually made of brass, or some non-magnetic metal.

PERFECT does make steel line clips, and they have proven to be superior (by about 40%) in tests to destruction.

I don't know what tests you're citing, but the last "Perfect" clip that failed for me(also the last Perfect clip I used)was a "large"which made itself into a piece of straight BRASS wire in flight.It was nickel plated and looked like steel but on examination the wire was definitely brass.The little "clip"thingie was steel.This cost me a very good flying Macchi 202.Since then I've used scissors clips exclusively and never had a failure,since every one I have is STEEL.I do have,in my box,some steel "Perfect"type clips ,but they were made by SIG.I never use them either.

The PERFECT clips that I am referring seem to be available in something that resembles a scissor....more radii at one end than the other...one piece...I am not a big fan of the two piece "slider" types, although I have seen World and National Champions use them.... Ted includes the good, tough, steel PERFECT clips with his handles.
