varnish removal on Fox29

Recently, I saw a very comprehensive article on removing the internal varnish from a typical Fox engine that has been run on all castor oil. Now I have the need to do that process, and I can't remember where I saw the article.

Does anyone have any idea where I could find a good write up on this?

I did do a web search and searched the forums, but no luck. I may have seen it in an old issue of Stunt News or Model Aviation. I know the process is basically just using fine steel wool or Scotch Bright, and being careful not to remove any metal, but I would still like to review the article.

I'd suggest the crock pot and anti-freeze method. I recently cleaned up almost all of my old engines that were terribly gummed up and had great results. No steel wool etc, needed.

I was going back over old messages when I realized that Harry Higleys book about model engines has a chapter devoted to cleaning up 2 stroke and 4 stroke model engines. I highly recommend this book. At most hobby shops or I believe Brodaks carries them as well as Flying Models mag. Leonard, do you carry Harry's books?
