Remover for SIG dope

I need to remove the finish from a model (solid surfaces) and start over- do any of you all have a paint remover you have tried lately that works well and you are happy with? I have tried a few kinds- haven't really found what I was looking for. I thought this had come up a couple months back, but can't find the right thread now.

My son found "Dad's Stripper" at the local Wally World. It does an outstanding job. Just don't get it on clear plastic parts! hahaha

I'll pop in there and get some. This is MOST annoying, especially since it is the second time I have done this particular model. I had some SIG dope to use up and got some blisters here and there in spots along the fuse/wing juncture on one side and a couple other places. I stripped it and re-did the whole thing; the second time, the first problem side and the other spots were gone but now the other side acted up! As I said, MOST aggravating...

Hi John. I've always used MEK to remove any dope product. It not only removes the paint but removes all dirt and dries in seconds for new paint. It requires several clean rags to do and use gloves when you do it. The finish you get is quite good and it removes all fuels that you may have used over the years or weeks as it may. I've tried the paint removers and end up having to clean up the mess that the remover leaves behind and still have to use the MEK or acetone to clean it up to paint. Thinner for the dope is quite expensive and really dosen't cut the paint as fast.
