When David Clayton(2nd-beginner stunt Junior)saw after his first flight in his first contest that his limited pattern was not going to be good enough, he went to the practice circle and learned outside loops and the AMA horizontal 8(inside on the right)between flights. They weren't pretty but they were good enough. Really great to see such competition and "want to" among all the kids who were entered.

To Dee and all the gang,
I want to say THANK YOU!!!! for putting on a really great contest. This was my first trip to the Tulsa contest and really enjoyed it. The only negative thing about the whole contest was the number of stickers that were imbedded in the soft foam wheels of my models. It was a real pain to get them out without sticking then into my own fingers.

Robert Sisson's mobile number is 405 204 6699. He has it with him at all times. Robert and his son are doing a lot of flying. Robert's interest is mostly combat but he is maybe leaning toward stunt a little. As far as I know, Robert has no e mail.

I had the same problem with sand burrs til I got smart and began extracting them with needle nose pliers.

This was a super contest, burrs and all, very well run, competitive in almost all events. I enjoyed everything except throwing away the winning cash raffle ticket.

The late afternoon combat matches were by challenge rather than bracket and we had some problems getting two flyers in the air with good streamers and decent runs at the same time-we actually ran out of daylight before it was all settled. The Kiwi made an appearance and flew well with some impressive equipment but high point was when little Alan Sisson(age around 12) got a big time kill on Mike Finnigan(age 50+) in 75 mph. Very little carnage, no flyaways or spectacular mid airs, etc.

Did I write everyone yet to say what silly move I'd made to keep my own battery/ power panel from supplying juice to start? The clips were switched inside the battery compartment to connect battery to panel! Anyway, pass my thanks again to Robert for using his Globee & clip!

(Which anyone can duplicate for reasonable amounts. The average cost, used, for each of the trio of OS Max F 25 ABC engines was about $60 in separate eBay auctions. Cartier and Maywald both sell foamie kits quite inexpensively that are quite similar to those that my son makes, and I use ordinary 10/22 Powermaster fuel.)

When the planes slow down from 110 mph plus, to the 70-75 range, crashes become minor incidents, flyaways are practically non- existent, and beginners have much more of a chance to figure out how things really work in combat before they are ignominiously (in AMA combat events, I mean), and rapidly, defeated.
