Does anyone besides myself have trouble getting enough sleep during those times you are building a model? I probably suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder or something, but I can't tell you how many times I'll start working on a plane in the evening and, next thing I know, it's 2 a.m. (I have the same problem when I read a good book). I was like this when I was 12 and I'm the same way at 40.
It is sometimes hard to work this pesky job around my hectic model-building schedule !!

Since I got married the wife reminds me how long I've been down in the shop working. So I don't have the late night problem anymore...(!)

Yeah, I do that too. Like when building a wing, I'll stay up as late as necessary to finish it all at once. When I start working on something, I set out to finish "X" amount of work, and if I seriously underestimate the amount of time required, I'll keep going until I finish, rather than wait till the next day. And not just with building models. Sure makes work the next day fun.
But you gotta have priorities, ha ha.

I thought this was a perfectly normal way to build model planes. I used to do this when I too was 12 to 16. The only time my Dad came out to the shed to say something to me was when the neighbor complained at about 1 am about the noise my McCoy .29 was making as I broke it in on a bench stand!! My wife just goes to bed at 9:30. She gets up at 4:45 to go to work. More than once I have been going to bed from an all night building session as she was getting up. She thinks it's funny. I get to build three at a time this way. Yep, this is normal.
