Quart Cans

I have searched and called every paint/hardware/auto store in my area looking for quart cans to store fuel and dope in. No success.

Does anyone know of a source in SE Texas?

I found a distributor who sells them for $1.20, but they have a $100 minimum. Thats about 83.3 cans, and I really only want about 30.

Would any of y'all be interested in sharing an order?

I have a 1/2 gallon fuel can that sold very well at VSC. $10.00 each plus postage.

I pick up quart & pint mason jars at the local thrift stor for dope etc. Just an Idea for you.

I didn't book mark the site but a couple of weeks ago I was looking for jars to store dope and paint in. Ran across a site that sold cans in just about any form one could ask for, quarts 1/2 gallons etc. The minumin was a case which would work out to much less than $100.00.

Hmm, I buy quart and pint cans from Home Depot. The one here has both plastic and metal.

The source that I use is my friendlt N A P A store, they have pint and quart cans that I buy one or any number of at any time..

I save quart cans that once contained acetone, lacquer thinner, Brodak thinner, etc. If you are really hard up, buy a quart of ordinary paint thinner, dump the thinner (in an approved waste site, of course) and use the empty can. Problem solved.

I see this image of wanting to get rid of a quart of acetone while cleaning all one's lines, putting a bunch of plastic line reels in a bucket, and pouring in the quart of acetone.

This reminds me of the time that Bob Carver spilled a large bottle of Hot Stuff on several sets of lines in his pit box. When Bob discovered them, they were a solid mass. Richard Stubblefield heard Bob's exclamations upon the discovery, looked to see what happened, and said, "Bob, if you put a rubber band around your lines, you wouldn't have to Hot Stuff them."

I see this image of pouring the acetone or toluene or what have you, into a glass jar and saving the can for fuel purposes, and the solvent to wipe down the lines, thus killing two birds with one stone!! But hey Im just the "Stinky solvent Guy" Paul

I've used the Home Depot cans, DON'T! They have a gray coating inside that comes off at least with Brodaks dope, what a mess. The good news is it stays in chunks and can be strained out.

Enco is a source for cans, both round and rectangular.

I've used Enco for tools, but not tin cans. Might be worth a shot.
