What a great day my son and I had. I repaired my Super Clown after I had an outboard wing failure and my son (Michael) said he would try to fly it. I took the first flight of three to make sure my repairs would hold then he went out with me on the second flight. The second flight was interesting because we both got tangled in the stooge line and I took the airplane while he untagled his feet. After he got his feet clear and hands back on the handle we both goofed up the control transfer and nosed the Clown into the ground. The only damage was to the prop and bent landing gear. On the third flight I made sure that we got rid of the stooge line and then walked 5 or 6 steps away from it. No repeats of tangled feets this time. After letting him get the feel of the plan he took control and solo'd for 7 or 8 laps before he got dizzy and wanted me to take it back. I only had a couple of laps after that before the tank ran out. I gave the plane to Michael after that flight. Michaels new (old) plane is a flapped Brodak Super Clown with a Fox .35.
It is kind of fitting that the Clown is the plane that I learned to fly on and now Michael will do the same. He is overwelmed about flying by his self and releived that the airplane survived
. I'm overjoyed to be sharing the hobby with him and look foward to a long and eventful summer.

I am happy to get a new Super Clown
. I like it better than a trainer because it is slower and easier to fly. The trainer (Flight Streak Trainer w/.15) that I flew was very fast and hard to control.
Happy Fly'n
