Most all of the discussion about throttles for controline stunt have centered around 4-stroke engines. Is there any reason that two strokers couldn't benefit from this? Purpose built and tuned stunt engines might not like having a throttled carb on them but engines such as the LA series are designed that way along with many others of course. I know RC engines predominate in Carrier but those are hotrod engines not stunt mills. I've heard here and elsewhere that just wiring open the carb on the LAs was sufficient. It sure would lessen the chances of scorching a motor on a lean run or having to hang onto the thing for 15 minutes while the fuel ran out. It could easily be done on the cheap with car radios ala Bob Z. Comments?

Since nobody else has replied, I'll add my 2 cents, which is just go for it. Being able to adjust power is a positive, assuming you will be overpowered to begin with. The major disadvantage is that you will be slightly heavier than a stunt venturi. However if you ditch the stock muffler by buying an aftermarket one, you can really save some ounces.

Just do it!!

After all, didn't Bob Gialdini use a throttle at one of the Nats he flew in?

Didn't Dave Gierke use a throttle and retracts at the NATS in the 60's? Ty
