Was asked who's making good foam wings nowadays and was unable to provide an informed answer. Anybody want to share an opinion on what's available from whom?

Hi Ted.
I've gotten some great samples from FLYING FOAM.

I have no interest in them.... yada yada yada

Good quality white foam work
and way above average work in EPP.

What about Tom Dixon's stuff?? I know he offers a bunch of different wings and he claims to be able to make just about any wing template-for a price.

There is a fellow by the name of Jim Pearson out of Marietta, GA who took over the Aerosmith line and makes new templates as needed. I believe this is the source for Tom Dixon as well.

Jim Pearson makes excellent foam wings. I have him do
partial wings, that is LE & TE installed and he sends
rib cap strips to be installed.....excellent work for
$80..... He has completed a Super Chief and Veco Chief
for me...you will see the results soon...Jim Goss

I believe that Tom Dixon uses Jim's services for the many kits that Tom produces. I've built several of Tom's kit, and the cutting of the foam cores is superb !! Really a pleasure to build.

I have gotten several wings from Jim Pearson and quality was superb. He has a lot of designs but e mail at [email protected] and he can tell you if he can do a specific design.

Jim Pearson is an excellent source for foam wimgs.
If you have a special request, as I did, contact him, he will tell you what he needs from you (ie inboard/outboard rib temlates, leadout routing etc).
Quality of work is excellent, he meets his delivery promise dates and stands behind his work.

John Duncan is one of Scotty Smith's students; he is cutting EXCELLENT control line foam wings and stabs, and has a variety of designs available. He's located in upstate NY (518) 583-8839.

I do agree that Jim's wing cores look good. You cant go wrong with his product. For a beautiful set of wings and I do mean beautiful then you will have to order a set from Igor Burger. Vacumm bagged, completely sheeted and sanded to a beautiful smooth surface, tips installed with leadout guides and the tips are hollowed out. Not to mention the tail feathers are done the same way which is included with your wings and also a option of have them covered and flaps done with the wings also. I used a set on my last plane BAD ANDY #2 and it was the best work I have ever seen. I will have more sets of these wings and he make several different styles. Well worth the money and made building and finishing just a dream. BAD ANDY
