BLACK HAWK
Is anyone else going to the northwest Regionals? I will be there with my line of 1/2A models and a new product: "Creat Your Own Decal" kits. I hope to meet some of you there, just look for the old worn out has been.

I'll be there flying and giving advice, and, as usual, not doing a lick of work.

That description is not unique, but if somebody asks me about 1/2As, I'll refer him to the other one.

EVERYONE will be at the Northwest Regionals.
I will be there from Thursday through the hanging of the last dog at dark on Sunday. Officially, I will be racing director, but will be casting envious glances at the stunt and combat circles. My racing partner, Mike, also decrees that I will put in at least one official flight on the speed circle, which should be entertaining to anyone watching. I imagine it will be pretty funny seeing me try to keep a Formula 40 groovin', since the pylon is foreign territory to me!

John,

I didn't send in the pre-registration form. I assume you can still register when you get there.

I am speaking as a participate of this fine contest and also as a past board member. Now, I fully respect those participants that come and expect to enjoy the weekend as we have in the past. I believe in the "Flying Lines" and also an "on line" a plea to Help out the Northwest Regionals Management Association to "set up" and Tear down" the flying field. One person has graciously responed and he will have two others that will help him. I AM NOT CHIDING the rest of you that you are not helping!!!BUT, this is a major contest and it takes more than three people--your N W R M A board of three to put this on. In the past one club hosted this event and then two clubs helped out. Yes we had 17 people come out thursday night and set up(try to direct 17 people all at once, yaaa) The help was appreciated and we got 80% of the work done and then it was up to several of us to complete the remaining 20%. This "Helping out thing" does not seem to be working. Oh, people have said, "Well I was there Thursday and I could have helped" (Are you going to be there on Monday also ?) Again, this is back to trying to direct 17 people, who you are not sure IF they are going to help or are willing each year. OK, lets run some numbers. Lets say that the "board" could hire 5 people for 8 hrs to "set up" the contest--that is 40 hrs X $7.25 = $290.00.NOW, the same figure for "tear down". Ttl is $580.00
of "hired" help. Your Maximum entry figure is $56.00. Lets say that we will have 100 contestants (92 was low year) If they charged every contestant a "surcharge" of $7.00--total of $63.00 OR again the $7.00
on top of every entry, whether it was one entry or multipule--Jr. and Sr included.
Just a thought!!!

Larry,

I will be interested in a big bag of "Powered by Pond Scum" decals.

Larry,

I would also be interested some really big decals. You know, something I could simply drape over the wing of an Impact, hit with a heat gun and go flying.

Please keep me advised.

I guess I will fly OTS at the NW Regionals. I was saddened to learn that Roy DeCamara has moved to Tucson. So he will not be there with his WILDMAN 60 with the big Spitfire ignition motor. Therefore, I am compelled to bring my own WILDMAN 60 with Orwick 64 to make some loud noise and keep everyone away.

Roy generally was able to make the trip from Portland to Tuscon for VSC. He can't put it in reverse and come from Tuscon to Albany? It's even a shorter trip. Okay, only 30 minutes. But still...

Glad you will at least be there to justify use of the ear plugs I carry in my SSF tool box.

After JT posted his request I volunteered for Thursday, the 27th. I'll be there by 9:30am, but can only stay till 4:30 due to kid duties at home. Anyone else want to help?

I have volunteered to be Keeper of the Big Butt Bees, scheduled to be released during second round of Expert PA.

While they are harmless in that they have never been known to sting anyone, all will have been tested with a go/no-go gauge with approximately the same inner diameter as a PA 61 or RO-Jett 61 venturi.

Rear-intake four-strokes have been shown to be highly resistant to the negatives effects involved in callously and repeatedly crossing the very real bee lines in place at Albany's airport.

John T. Good to hear that You will be over at the speed circle for that F40 flight. I'll try not to miss it. I plan to do a bit of pylon twisting there myself as well as put in some time in the stunt circle. I plan on entering advanced with a ship I just bought from Norm Whittle. Got in some practice flights today with it and it is a very good bird. I'll try to be there early enough to help out with setup if I can. There should be about a 1/2 dozen of us up there from the Sallt Lake City area.

It'd be nice to *have* a new face- this one's getting kinda worn. It's not the years, it's the mileage. . .
