How many???

It has been fun to find out whatcha building, whatcha crashed, whatcha next project ect..ect.. ect... Now for the most important question. How many kids have you introduced to control line flying in the past year? For me it has been zero, but I am just starting to get out to the field and there will be a trainer in the truck ready to go.

This year? 0,but for the preceding four years,32 each year.Our Young Aviators Academy at Cal-Poly U.is a week long summer day camp(two sessions/year) to teach model airplane construction and flying to kids from 9 to 14.It's been a highly successful and rewarding project.The reason there were none this year,is that we concentrated on rubber power freeflight,indoor and outdoor.If you haven't worked with kids,you don't know what you're missing.On the other hand,try organising 16 9-14s into two circles of flyers.Ever herded cats?But once they found that they could do it all;fuel,start,launch,AND FLY,(and repair),it was no problem.
