Thanks To All Stunters of SSW

Thanks to first, Leonard and Matthew for this site, but right behind them, (all) of the folks who have spent thousands of hours learning and teaching others about CL Stunt. Thanks to you guys, I have many fine kits and engines that will keep me going for many years, God Willing! The GMA Profile Nobler concept I have been pursuing, is now an almost reality, with Bill Little cutting a kit for me, and Chris handling the foam wing. Also the input from many others including Kiwi and Tom, and countless others, I'm grateful for.

I complain alot about the bickering on some of the threads, but, bottom line, I do (respect and admire) the knowledge you all have. Just the delivery is sometimes a put off. But, we all swim in the same water, and contact with folks on this site has enhanced my life. Thanks, again, William Michel-Henri of Santa Fe, New Mexico

It's amazing what a keyboard or two ton vehicle will do to someones social skills.

And, the content of the conversations wouldn't be a lot different. It tends to sound more hostile than it really is without the tone. Those of use who know each other understand that. There are only two or three people in stunt who I really can't stand and for the most part they don't participate in these discussions.

And I might add that the topic of interest are almost always topics on which disagreement exists. There no point in discussing things we all agree on - which is most things, when it gets right down to it.

I think third parties who merely observe tend to overreact to the appearance of conflict here.

As usual, Bob and Brett have it correct. I will only expand it to mention that a great many times we have a few people who simply cannot read words in the proper context. Yes, there is no nod or wink or tone to use as a clue, but the written word has in fact served us quite well for a very long time. Even prior to the days of silly smiling icons.

Look at the response Keith Trostle got when explaining overhead 8s in OTS. Some guy just about bit his head off. Amazing...

As for myself, I will defer to Ron Salo whom I hope is looking in and recovering nicely from surgery: "Dan, I like what you write because it's exactly the way you talk." Okay, Ron is a little nuts. But like many of us, I have *never* submitted anything on this site that I would not say in public and directly to those involved.

Another example: 2003 NW Regionals, first encounter of the weekend with Ted Fancher. If I wrote down exactly the very first words out of his mouth when seeing me come around the corner of a building, you might think a fist fight was the result. Well, I did the next day toss a big-butt bee into his line of flight, this having the desired effect. But no fisticuffs.
