Tom Warden's 60 size PT-19

Does anyone have any details of this model that was pictured in SN a few years back? Plans source? Anyone know how it flew?

Power etc.

I have a sentimental reason to build a PT-19 stunter--My mom and dad twice flew from Michigan to California by way of Kingman Az. in a surplus PT-19! I have some nice photo docs of that plan and would like to build one.

The PT-19 is probably one of my most favorite airplanes. If you haven't read the book: "PT-19; Cradle of Heros" you need to.

EDIT: a second thought..... I have a set of Super Chief plans from Dixon for a .60. A little bit of fuselage re-drawing should give a very nice looking PT-19. I think the plans show a taper wing. Add wing mounted gear and a roll over bar,.............

And Bill: I thought about that one--actually told the family story to Dave when I talked to him at Huntersville last fall. That may be what Mr. Warden did also--don't know. Just want to have as many options as posible.

What a surprize.You`ll never guess what is hanging in my living room wall. Yup, Tom Warden`s PT-19 with a ST.60.Tom and I were good friends back in the 60`s and 70`s. I bought the plane from Tom Lay who was selling Tom`s stuff for his wife. I don`t have any plans for it though. It is one beautiful plane.Don`t know how it flew.But it is quite heavy.

Geez...I should have guessed! That's cool.

Hope to see that model someday. THe pictures in SN were awsome but I'm sure they didn't really do justice to the detail.

I drew up a set a few years ago (1995) sized for a .60 never built it. I used Dixon's Magnum Plus wing.(changed the tips) This might be a nice plane for the 4 -stroke .
