Pictures of Aichi and Prowler...

Aichi M6A1 Nanzan. 630 sq. in., 56 oz. Saito 40 power.

Prowler 500 sq. in. 50 oz. Saito 40 also.

These guys are a bit porky, flight testing to follow.

VERY slick. The Aichi looks like it copies one of the handful of M6A-1K Nanzan conversion trainers (hence the overall orange scheme) . These differed from the float equipped operational models in having a squared-off fin and rudder and land undercarrriage.
Nanzan means "Southern Mountain" a name originally reserved for the operational model which in the end became Seiran: "Mountain Haze". About 20 of all production versions were built (plus the earlier prototypes), in 1944-45.
The airplane was originally intended as a submarine launched bomber with one primary mission being an attack on the Panama Canal to put it out of action.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Testing will begin as soon as the Ohio weather clears a little. Just got out once last week and flew some old stuff to get back in the groove. If they fly well, will bring 'em to Brodak. If not, will see what other engines might work since the mounts are the clamp 'em type. Hoping that won't be needed. Since I've retired there should be enough time to test before the contest season starts.
