Searching turned up more than I can understand!! LOL!!!!

I have a pretty new 049 without a tank or backplate. It has a "#1" Cylinder. Which/what is that cyl.?

I have an all silver 049 w/tnak that has stunt venting, and a black plastic backplate. What is/could it be? (no # on cyl.)

I would like to, possibly, get into the Musicano Contest in VA., but dont know how to identify which Cox 049s I have.
Any help?

I hope this will help you out. Cox/Estes did alot of mixing and matching over the years. We have all seen Golden Bees with Black Widow tanks and Black Widows that where all plain aluminum. It's crazy to think of all the combos I have seen.
As for the #2 cylinder it is a single bypass cylinder with SPI. A #1 cylinder is a twin bypass with SPI. It's backwards I know! A #4 is a TD .049 and a #5 is a TD .051 just to name a few. The single bypass is what is allowed for the Musicano Contest I think. As for the all unanodized "Black Widow". Some will call it a Super Bee, some will call it a Silver Bee. Estes sometimes called it a Black Widow. The good thing about it is that it may have a real good cylinder on it. I came across one a few weeks ago that was plain with the stunt tank and it had the Venom/newer TD .049 cylinder on it with the plastic back. It won't work for the Musicano but it would be a great running engine with it's venturi opened to .082. Just my 2cents!

It is the all silver one that I am wanting anodised.
Everything (except cylinder, glow head, and drive washer) in red!
