Suggestions on Muffler repair

I did some dealing with a R/C guy and he gave this
to me for free, butchered as it appears the rest of
the Mac's muffler/pipe is in excellent shape.

I thought about adding a aluminum retangular washer
and bolt it on a .25 FP. (Since the holes do not line up)
Are there some type
of epoxies that can be drilled, withstand heat and vibration?

Onely one thing JB weld the slow stuff NOT JB quick just be sure to clean good once set up you can file sand drill real good stuff

I second the vote- JB Weld is the stuff to use. Withstands the heat and oul of exhaust , and is as strong as the aluminum, the muffler is made from.

If it's going to be temporary do the JB Weld thing. If your going to use it, weld it now. You can mail it to him. After you use the JB stuff it's almost impossible to get it clean enough to fix proper later....GRINS

A couple of comments to the above:

(1)No,it's not.

(2)Oil yes,heat no.

(3)NO it's NOT.

It's ROOM temperature strength is very good,as two part epoxies go,but only about 1/2 that of the aluminum.At 400-500deg.F,its chewing gum.

Weld it or toss it.

At JBweld.net: "not recommended for use on manifolds, exhaust systems, or other engine components operating at 500f or above". What's the EGT of a methanol motor? If it could plug a hole at 500 could it also hold threads at that temp? Doubt it. Don
