There has been discussion of an event for airplanes designed and/or kitted after the Classic cut off. Has anyone held an event and if so what was the turnout like? Our Praire Fire contest is growing in popularity and I was thinking of adding another event. I haven't been to SS forum for awhile and may have missed the discussion, if this was recently brought up please excuse me.

I think the idea of USA-1's and the like duking it out again is very cool.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Anyway, the USA-1 is legal under the current PAMPA Classic rules, in two different versions.

I think the "later" (maybe limited to the '70s) class can generate some interest as an "add on event".

Scott, Bruce and Bill,

Why not just let the '70's planes fly in classic under a point penalty such is assessed to flapped old time planes? Let's say a 10-15 point penalty depending on if it's pre or post 1975? Thoughts?

Uh, the USA-1 is classic legal.

There was a lot of discussion of setting up an event for planes designed in the 70s. I think the general opinion was we already have a lot of events and this would be another to adminster.

But it's a cool idea.

I would like to see MORE 70's planes become classic and More OLDER classic planes become OTL. IMHO.....Cut offs OTL 55 dec, Classic 80 dec, PA 2004 dec
