Ted's Precision Pro Handles

My apologies for putting this message on the regular board, it will also be posted on the classified board to insure distribution.

I have sold out all of my regular sized Precision Pro Handles and have only about a dozen of the large size still available. It is not my intention at this time to produce more as I've been under some pressure from my legal advisor regarding the wisdom of doing so without some sort of corporate cover protection. Because the handle thing was never intended to be a "business" as such, I'm unwilling to undertake doing so.

I may well entertain the possiblity of selling the rights to the handles to an established special interest supplier who has done all the legal work required to protect his/her personal interests from litigation. If anyone is interested in doing so I am available through the private message section of SSW.

I appreciate those of you who have purchased and enjoyed the handles and apologize for having to stop the "production" of them. Hopefully, their absence from the market place will only be temporary as, I continue to feel, they do offer a superior level of performance for the serious stunt flyer.

The last of the regular size handles are going out today to Mr. R.K. and Mr L.P. Any subsequent checks for regular sized handles will, of course, be returned to the sender. When the large sized handles are sold out I will post an additional advisory on SSW. A precise count shows that there are still 22 of the larger sized available.

It's a shame when a cottage industrialist has to worry more about liability protection than about the wonderful service they are doing to the community. As someone with a lot of legal training, I feel even worse that someone might exist who would be willing to take you into court for some "defect" in your product. Torts or Consequences

Setting up a small corporation should be fairly simple, but does cost money to maintain. Your handles are incredible, I hope someone can take over for you if you cannot continue.

Having once been in the position of looking at buying product liability insurance....I would suggest setting up an anonymous, off-shore corporation. Cayman Islands, etc. Someplace nice to visit once or twice a year. But get the product made here, please. Steve

This is very sad as I just finally got to put the 2 I bought from you last fall to use and I just think they are great.I just emailed you 3 days ago to order 2 more .I was asking for the standards but I would take the large if there are any left.Please let me know.Thanks for supplying us with a great product.Sad to see it go.Thanks Dennis

Sorry to hear about this, another story to add to the list of "small" businesses that folded due to attorneys.

Wonder just how much of what you pay for an item goes to insurance companies & then to attorneys.

Why the "worry" over something as basic as a good stunt handle. I am not aware of any significant law suits by stunt flyers against other stunt flyers. Dick Byron, Windy Urtnowski, and John Brodak have been selling handles for a number of years. Almost anything we use could have a potential liability concern; ie. fuel, props, lines, etc.

Milton is right. Now is the time to correct the past. We did have a problem last year but it was never about you making handles or the quality of your handles. I have always felt thet every stunt flier has his own style and feel that suits him just fine, but may not suit other fliers that is why I have always suggested that pilots should try different handles until they get the results they want.
They all feel different and work different.
I am sorry to see you quit, the stunt world needs choices, your handle is a very good choice as well as all the others are.

I truly hate to hear this, Ted. We do have 4 of your handles, and really like them.
I heard this weekend that Kaz is no longer producing his handles.
There are several really nice handles still on the market, but as Dick Byron said, it is really great to have a broad selection to select from.

I would like to order one of your large handles. I think it will work great with my Imitation and other future .60 ships. Someone on a thread asked about prices and mentioned $25. Is that correct? My check will be mailed out today. Thanks!
