Word of caution to all my friends on SSWF. The network is getting assaulted by something named Sokets due Trois v1. Trojan.

I've been seeing hits every few minutes on Norton Personal Firewall:

In case you aren't aware, this is not an email transmitted virus. All you have to be is on line! These trojans often lie idle for an extended period, then activate and team up with others to do all sorts of nefarious things.

If you haven't got both a virus checker and a firewall on your computer already, I encourage you to get one, immediately. You can get a current one downloaded, on line.

Yes, you'll have to pay something, but believe me, once you have the experience of being hacked/virused, you'll agree that the price is reasonable. Both McCaffey and Norton (Symantec) have good products.

One other thing, if you haven't been keeping your Windows operating system product updated, get on the stick and do it! Windows XP has a built in firewall (I don't know how good it is), but it is apparently not activated by default. Check it out.

Yea, I've been getting hits on port 125 for the last couple of hours. About 10-20 a minute. I just told the router to ignore anything coming in on that port. Since I don't use Windows, I'm not too worried about it doing anything to the OS (don't think there are many virus' out there that recognize ReiserFS), but it's annoying taking up bandwidth.
