Adjustable leadouts?

Does anyone have a drawing for an adjustable leadout/line guide device they could post? The simpler & lighter the better.

I'm sure a google search will produce more results, as will a search here. Look for articles on triming your stunter.

That first one will work fine--I would keep the eyelets as short as posible though since the leadout angle will not always be perfectly down the center of the eye. The longer they are, the more they will saw on the leadouts.

THe brodak unit uses polyethylene slider with holes. nice and slippery and low wear.

The on line articales that are located on the PAMPA website have this detail. Specifically, building a Better Profile - Part 10, and the Mobest article show the same thing. They show a dual slider, but the basic construction could be adapted to a single slider as well.

Here is the way I make mine I make one leadout about 6 inches longer so the connectors do not get hung up.

One additional comment to all this. Put a longer bolt through the center which is going to be used for adjustment and then mash the threads at the end so that it canot screw all the way out. Yup, it's happened, the bolts comes loose and works its way out in mid-air flight. If the plane is in trim, it will "self align" and allow you to fly out the flight in this condition, but if you go into some violent maneuvers, the slider will usually go all the way back which can mess you up a "bit". It is still not fatal if the bolt comes loose. But if it falls out, the slider can go all the way to the belcrank and become quite "fun" to fish back and hopefully allow you to get the bolt back in.

Moral of the story: Make the bolt longer. Mash those threads.
