PAMPA..what does it stand for?

I`ve been following this forum for 3 or 4 months, and I have never seen what the acronym PAMPA is.

A few guesses:

Pretty Amateur Model Pilot Association
Professional Amateur Model Pilot Association
Prototype Airplane Model Praying Association
Post All Memos Privately, Anonomously
....

Pampa is a small town in Texas, famous for tornadoes and John Ashford.

And a rock band. I can't remember the name of the outfit at present and all my LPs are still in boxes after the house move 2 months ago. But I do remember that they did a track called Pampa Jam.

Can anyone fill in the gaps?

Geoff, Don't know about a rock band but "Couder Graw" C&W band is from Pampa, Texas.

Larry, I'm guessing your quote of choice for this one was not a subtle hint as to the amount of other people's patience which I manage to go through each year because if so, it was highly undervalued.

Love you man, but you have really let the cat out of the bag with this one. I was not born in nor do I live in a barn. I've been accused of being born in a barn but it is NOT TRUE.

I actually comport myself reasonably well around women and small children and also take a shower at least every other day.

My dear uncle was 30 years in the Navy. He once spent an uncomfortable evening on the train platform in Pampa while trying to get home on leave to Goodlett, TX. He still speaks of Pampa as the "coldest place on Earth", even after sailing the North Atlantic. Perhaps he is right. Before John comes to get me, let me say that I grew up in the Panhandle, too. And it can be very cold indeed. Just not for as long as in Minnesota.....

I went back to my original search and after seeing PAMPA Texas, PAMPA software, and PAMPA hotels, I found the real PAMPA as entry # 68. Just didn`t look far enough the first time.
