Have not heard much about the LA 65 being used for C/L. Any thoughts? Looking for something to put in a Magnum. Any ideas?

I don't know anyone who has done any development on the LA65. I think we concluded that it was pretty heavy for the purpose. If you're building a Magnum, get a ST 51 while they are on sale at Tower at go for it. Perfect pair.

The LA 65 would need a new design. It's way to big and heavy for a Magnum. If it runs anything like the 40 and 46 it will probably turn a 14-15 in. prop and pull a 65+ oz plane with over 1000 squares. Way to big and heavy for me!!

If you'r really into this sort of engine, don't forget the Thunder Tiger GP 60? Useful if you'r limited to 60 engine size, as good or better quality, cheaper, and just as heavy!!

Sorta came out of a brain *##!!?? after dealing with a flooded house after 17" of rain. Would a Thunder Tiger Pro 46 ABC be enough power for the Sig Magnum? ( got one new in the box ) ????

These are good engines. Keep the plane light (same advice for any design) and it should do a good job.
