Adding attachment problem

I don't know what's happend but when I click on the "Click here to choose your file" nothing happens anymore. A window used to open for me to search my folders for the file to attach... Now nothing opens at all. Oh dear, what have I done? Please help a computer idiot.

Any ideas?

Kirk, try holding down the Ctrl key while you hit the Add button. Try it and let me know.

No joy on the Ctrl key. I here a click but nothing happens.

Shoot. I have a pop-up stopper on this machine that takes the Ctrl key to open any new windows. The window opens fine for me. Hmmm. Lemme think about this.

Oh, Kirk, have you re-booted the computer? That's kind of the Swiss Army Knife answer for Windows problems. Reboot it for grins and see if that fixes it.

Assuming your attachments are under the 50K arbitrary limit, the answer boils down to one of two things. You either have a firewall that does not allow your computer to talk to the forum, or you have a pop-up eliminator. Firewalls can be configured to accept the site. The pop-up eliminator usually has an override which you can hold down (such as the shift key) when you click on the attachment url. Otherwise you simply have to disable the pop-up eliminator while on the forum. There are no nasty pop-ups here to bother you anyway. I hate them "commercials".
