Now I'm really confused...

In a thread which I began, is now closed to responses--I didn't ask for this, by the way--is posted the following:

Are you saying we need a motion, then a vote, then we live with it?

Or are you saying there has been a motion, there was a vote, the winning side was announced and we now live with it?

I could easily have missed it, but I don't remember any sort of vote on the issue of whether or not we discuss the forbidden topic.

Well, I do remember quite a lot of people voting. With their feet, in tromping to the thread now deleted, quite a few taking time to make contributions.

Dan, there was a large discussion on this very board about the builder of the model rule. It went on forever. Those few who don't understand it or don't want it for whatever selfish reason they have, just groaned on forever. I let it go.

Then it was suggested that if they wanted to moan and groan they ought to make a motion to change the rules. Several such proposals were made to the rules committee. More discussion followed on this board. It went on forever. I let it go.

The rules proposal changes lost. The vote was taken and it is done with. But the moaning goes on. I finally shut down the topic.

Now the debate goes on as to why we can't continue to discuss the stupid topic. A rules proposal was made. It lost. We live with it. If you can't, get out of the hobby.

If this cryhing doesn't stop I will shut down this entire board.
