300% fun!

Hi, my name is Ryan. My dad has been posting out here as roootbeard. So I thought I might post some of my C/L adventures.
Today we took advantage of the weather and went out only to fly the 0.49's. I realy wanted to try my hand at some loops before I do one with my flite streak. We had a blast! I had forgot how much fun 0.49's realy where. We brought 4 planes with us and 1 broke when trying to do a loop, the other broke on a rough landing. 50% of our planes broke but I said I had 100% fun, my dad had 100% fun, and my brother Josh had 100% fun. So together we had 300% fun.
We plan on flying tomorrow and taking only the big planes. So i am crossing my fingers and hopeing there will be no wind.

Also I would like to thank all for your knowledge and the help you give to my dad and me.

Ryan, What is the model airplane called that your holding in the picture? Did you paint the "Scallops" on the wing? What kind of paint did you use? That looks like a COX engine.

That's a REALLY GOOD IDEA that your using glasses to protect your eyes and a glove to protect your fingers. Your Dad must know his stuff!

It's nice to see you and your brother having good clean fun with your dad. You'll get the loops down. There is no secret to becoming a good pilot. It's called practice - practice - practice! Keep up the good fun!!!!! Ron...

That plane I am starting is my little brother's cadet. My dad got the plans off this form. My little brother borrowed the idea and my dad painted it.
Also you can't see in the picture but I have earplugs in to.
We are having losts of fun. We are about to leave to fly.

That's what its all about, and you'll find doing a loop with Flite Streak very easy. Let us know how it goes.

I took my 12 year old out last weekend for a C/L flying demo at a full size airshow. He flies the Brodak Streak Trainer w/OS FP 15 as well as a U-Key 15 with a Norvel BigMig 15. He started learning wingovers last season.

Sure enough, on his first flight in front of the spectators, he's looping the Streak Trainer! Not once but several times. The Streak Trainer is set up with minimal throw and is NOT easy to loop.

As soon as we get the Ukey 15 repaired (one of my mishaps last season) I'm sure he'll go right into inverted flight.

I learned to fly with my late father. I've always had 300% fun doing family activities of any kind - but specially models.

Ya we do have lots fun flying. And I just found out today I am going up in a single engine plane with this fighter pilot. He is with an organization called Young Eagles. And he is going to let me take the controls a little. So I am realy looking forward to that. And Mr. Kreth next time we go fly I will be sure to give you a call. Ryan
