I just received an email purporting to be from Dick Byron that contained the Netsky virus.
Netsky spoofs the source address so I know that it is not Dick but someone who has Dick's email address and mine in their address book.
Recent virus activity has had Symantec releasing updates even at weekends which is a bit unusual.
Keep your virus control up to date, please.

I have two accounts, and the one at work literally gets about 20 of these a day, their McAffee shield and firewall seem to catch them. But I also see an occasional one on my personal account.
This netsky virus just seems to go on and on.. I'd like to do an opto-testicular interchange (with a sharpened spoon) on the little monster who wrote that one.

My paranoia about viruses stems from the fact that about 5 years ago, my fully up-to-date Macafee let me down and I acquired a tri-state Office virus--one that infected Word, Excel and PowerPoint--from a client's network. It took me 18 hours to completely irradicate the wretched thing from the two networked computers in my office.
Do you need to ask why I know that Norton AV has been updated every day for the last two weeks?
I go ther every day--before I check my email.
The only nasties that have got into my system in the last couple of years have been a couple of slightly irritating spyware products.
