Cudos for a PAMPA advertiser

Saturday, I received a MVVS .49RE (8cc) Akrobat from Alberto Parra in the Canary Islands (Spain). I sent payment on May 11 and I signed for receipt of the package on the 29th. Such excellent service should be commended!

Prior to the purchase, I exchanged emails with Alberto. He was prompt and knowledgeable. I really appreciated that correspondence.

If you order an engine from him, keep in mind that he stocks MVVS needle valve assemblies (2 sizes) at $7 each. These are ST equivalent. That price is hard to beat if you already have something on order.

OK Fred I give up. Which Mustang is this powerhouse going in??????

Uh, mmmm, Mustang, yes, interesting thought!

Actually, a larger Mustang has crossed my mind. Todd Lee's P51B that he flew in the 2002 WC would be about right.

This engine is 1 of 2 MVVS .49s destined for a KA-10. Many delays (some self induced) have slowed this project. I hope to have it ready by mid-season. I want to test both SE and RE versions of this engine in the KA-10. The SE version is well broken-in and turns a 13 x 6 Zinger just under 8000 in a solid 4-stroke using SIG Champion 5%. The needle is very linear and it has a tractor like sound, almost like a Retro 60.

The MVVS engines can be set up RE or SE (prior to running). My 2 examples are about 3 years apart. Outside of anodizing (color)differences, the new one is done by CNC and has a different head design (larger combustion chamber). I used all supplied head shims with the older SE version to decompress it for 5% nitro fuel.
