I couldn't make it

This is what I know about Huntersville.

Beginner. 1st place - Kirk Wicker NVCL
2nd planc - I don't know, Kirk you out there?

Don't know anything about Intermediate.
Ty you were in Intermediate, what was the results?

Advanced 1st Place - Steve Fitton.
Advanced 2nd Place - Don't really remember
How about a little help on this one Steve.

Expert: 1st Place - Randy Smith (What elese did you expect?)
2nd Place - Derek Berry (A really nice flying Staris)
3rd Place - Robbie Gruber ( A really nice flying Dreadnaught)

Me: Last place just like I predicted. I was having so much engine troubles during practice on Saturday I could only make a couple of decent flights. Last official flight I thought I was going to go overtime because I had to run and retrieve a different glo driver. I flew half way decent that flight but bounced the landing trying to get it down in a hurry. Oh well, I know what I need to do now.
#1 Get a Staris Kit & get Curt Contrada to build it for me - Just Kidding!!!! I'll build it even if it only gets 12 appearance points!
#2 Get a PA .40 Extra Light - 8.2 ounces - Wow.

Dang! I would have been 3rd in Beginner even if I crashed again

Terry McDowell got second in Advanced, I think Clayton Smith was third.

In intermediate Alex Courtney won first place. I watched his second flight and it was impressive. He may need the boot in the near future!

Our own Bill Ballenger won second. That was only his second contest (in stunt) so he did pretty good.

Thanks to the Carolina gang for a great time with AWESOME weather!

I couldn't think of Bill's name, he flew a very nice Time Machine.

That Tomahawk/you flies great! It was fun watching you fly the entire pattern with it. Nice meeting you also!

I like to thank Bill Frances and the entire Metroliner gang for putting on a great contest.

A big thanks goes to the judges that stood out there watching us fly. Personally I had Aaron Little and Bill Frances in the Profile event and in Advance the judges were Larry Draughn and Tommy Lupper. Thanks guys.

Saturday afternoon James Duckworth provided us with the Jim Walker “404” event. Ty Marcucci showed use how to fly his 404 inverted (amazing). Ty beat me in our two up round. I had a blast.

Also a Big thanks to goes to Mr. Steward for providing the food and drinks (Barbeque on Saturday and the hot dogs on Sunday).

Huntersville is not only about stunt but racing and combat.I was sick for the last few days so I went to the field for a hr Saturday morning befor the contest. I took these pictures of the combat circle and two young friends that sure look like they were ready to go at it.I promosed to put these shots up here but I got lazy and down in the dumps as I was to sick to fly.I missed the racing event that was at 8am but I did take these combat planes and a few stunt planes. So guys as I said I would here they are. Sorry it took so long.

glad your alright ed.......was worried about you having a relapse or something......see ya at brodak ......boy was alex flyin high.......his mother came to watch him fly for the first time and got to see him take first in 3 events , including a 502 to take intermediate......
