Tachometers.....

where I work I need a Tacho to measure 150 to 400 rpm... using reflective strips.
This is for a high-speed printer where the rpm of various parts of the printer is critical to 1 or 2%.

If I could take it home at week-ends to check my engines it would be a definite bonus.......

Any reccomendations ?????

THe TNC tachs...probably the gold standard for hobby tachs, will do this handily. We do servo-system repair and calibration and use the TNC regularly. Have it cal'd regularly and you won't be disappointed.

But can you get Skyborne (?) to make you one?

I called them today and was put on their waiting list of 4 to 6 weeks. I was flying with the guys this weekend and Floyd had one and we tached an engine with no less than 5 tachs at the same time. My Thunder Tiger was 400 rpm off. It'll be worth the wait. At least I'll know for sure what the real rpm is. BTW I may not make this batch and will have to wait till next time.
