I have Extra, Cap 232, Edge 540, designs "in the can" for my Saito 72 for quite some time. Due to the "miracle of CAD, scaling these up for Saito .91, 1.00, O.S.Max 91 size motors would be a snap. There is no reason why talented cats couldn't do Pitts Specials, big Sukhoi's etc. for TOC. If I am not mistaken, combat flyers have been successfully holding money contests for years. Because of my limited physical strength, (hey, I am a stunt flyer), I would be inclined to scale my ships to about 2 meters max. It is important to remember, that the biggest RC contest on the planet was not held at the Nats, but in Las Vegas.
Like you suggested; no appearance points. Just a straight "flyers shootout".
What is really important is that contest be held in conjunction something else to get a "draw."
