I was looking at a copy of the Peacemaker plans last night thinking about building one for my PAW diesel... Not intending to replicate it exactly, simplify the nose a bit, but I understand it's a good flier, a good looking plane to my eyes, and probably a good match for the PAW. My question is about the CG shown on the plans: it just looks to be way too far forward. I realize that this can be adjusted during the flight trimming process but is there something I'm missing here? was there a reason to have the CG that far forward? Those of you that flown them, where did you end up putting the CG?

Ron,
I assume you are referring to the built-up Peacemaker. I had not noticed that the C/G is so far forward on the plans.

Peacemaker tale:
I have been "building" one for several years! I got a partly built kit at a swap. After I got it home I noticed that the controls had been installed on the short wing. Fixed that and found that many ribs were glued only at the notches because they had as much as 1/16" gap to inside of formed LE. Fixed that. Next, some of the parts for the molded fuselage were missing. Scrapped the kit fuse and started one per plans (that I got from MAN when the plane was published). After a week the epoxy had not set. Got discouraged and set the whole thing on the "back bench". Removed the fuselage from the jig last year to use the jig for another plane and found that the epoxy had cured over time. That was one slowww setting epoxy!
Starting on it again this year. Gotta make new flaps and empennage because they have been "misplaced" or discarded.

Your idea of simplifying the engine area is good. The multi part doublers are a lot of effort. Not sure if they save any weight.

Have not flown one so can't address the C/G position.
