Pipe Length Exhaust Timing

I see the chart that Randy worked out for pipe length,this for an engine with the Ex. Timing at 135degress .Does anyone really know any ratios to to develope pipe length on engines with other Ex. Timing ? Say 142 degrees,or maybe 152 degrees.

I have got a question on the chart. How did you get it past the censor? I have the site limited in the size of pictures that can be posted and this one exceeds the size limit. The main concern is the time it takes for these things to down load, especially with dial-up connections. This is a JPEG at about 125K size. If you rescan it (or convert it) to GIF, it will occupy about 65K. Use JPEG for color pictures and GIF when using black and white scans such as this. The smaller we can make these the easier it will be for all to receive the download.

Leonard, this file wasn't uploaded to your site and that is why the size limits didn't kick in. You are right about the download time and I have often wished there was a way to just post a link to a picture without it automatically being downloaded and displayed. This way, those who wish can see the photo and those that don't do not have to wait for the download just to read the message.

This gives you all the variables to consider when designing a pipe. Length,
Expansion angle, reversion angle,Stinger diameter,setback,lemgth. Shock
wave development and the fun stuff you have been missing for years...........

I've been looking for a copy of "The Two Stroke Tuners Handbook", with no success, ...at least at a price I was willing to pay. Did get a hit on Amazon.com, but the "A-1 condition" copy was going for over $145.00 Yankee dollars. What was this book worth when in print? (It's long out of print now.) Anyone got one for sale? The quest continues.

I got my copy 20 something years ago for 20 bucks us$.

I'll look and see if there is a copy laying around in mt go kart club.
