Is anyone familiar with these engines? Is $90 for one NIB a good deal? I can't remember seeing anyone mention using this engine in any post. Must be a good reason, lay it on me.

Hi Bill,
Are you looking to buy one or sell one. My flying partner is using one in his stunt ship. The quality is lacking so some are good and some are lacking. He has been able to pick them up at swap meets for less than $50.00 NIB. Then he takes them apart and uses all the good pieces from each to make one good motor. They are not made anymore (China) but they are supposed to have timing similar to the ST 60. They are an ABC motor at least the one my friend has is. From what I have seen they are a docile motor and will not over power a 60 size ship. My friend has done a lot of expiermenting as he is a machinist. His have a custom head and venturi and timing changes to make them run as good as the stock ST 60. If you wish more info I can put you in contact with him.

Thanks Greg, not really looking to buy one. Just saw a couple listed on Da Bay and was a little curious about them. With close to 400 engines here it has become potentially dangerous to my health to buy more. My wife has a limited sense of humor and I don't find out what that limit is! I still buy a few here and there but have gotten rather selective for the most part.
Is that Gene Molnar, Simi Valley. Gene uses one and completely remachined the CS engine in his large white airplane. He's getting good results but it is no longer just a CS 60.
I heard a story about the CS factory. Seems you had to be a member of the communist party to get a job there. And neither praise for good work nor criticism for poor work was allowed. Something about discrimination. So after putting out junk engines for a while, they folded.
