Another newbie question

We are Pampa members and get their magazines. On the front cover where it says AMA and stuff it says FAI, Just been wondering what is means

Federation Aeronautique Internationale.

The FAI is an international organization that organizes all types of aeronautical competitions and maintains world records. Every two years they hold a world championships for control line models. This year the FAI CL world championships is in the USA, in Muncie, Indiana. There will be four events at the world championships: F2A (speed), F2B (aerobatics), F2C (team racing), and F2D (combat). The latter is the most entertaining to watch.

Yep! and the best movie of all time was "Rollerball"

For those of you going to Muncie to watch, world class team racing is one of the most exciting events there is. If you really want to have some fun, get chummy with the Brits and sit with them during the semis and finals. Especially if they have a team in the running.
Howard is right about F2D also. It isn't like the fast combat events you see at local contests here in North America.

Ah, yes, Howard, I must concur. I am a die hard F2B (aerobatics) guy myself, but I can never forget that day at the Nats when Matt and I were passing by the combat circles and a certain Howard Rush (yourself) was preparing to go on an official flight and he called out to us, "Watch this". We did, and the moment of that flight was quite entertaining, indeed.

"Kills" are scored in US combat I might mention. Ah, yes, the brief moment of that flight was quite entertaining, indeed.

Then you can do searches on GOOGLE and Dogpile. The PAMPA site is great, along with the AMA site, especially if you are a member because then you can access the archives. There will be more sites than ever and it goes on and on.
