Firestreak

Can anyone assist me in a rib template for a Firestreak ??

The plan that comes with the kit, is a top view only and does not show
the side view, therfore, no rib pattern available.

I have the plan, but no kit.

Would like the rib template if posiible for accuracy.

Don't know if this will help or not. It's a scan off of one of GMA's full size FS plans. I measured the cross section at 9 3/16". Of course there are several different ways to due the leading edge. This should be the center rib.

Firestreak? We don't know no steenking Firestreak. Maybe Elwyn got it right, maybe he didn't. Steve

My brain just read Flitestreak. Firestreaks I don't know.

I presume that you mean the Aeroflyte Firestreak, an Australian combat flying wing from the late 50's.

I've been asking around for a plan, because a mate has just been given a specimen! He's restoring it to flying order. I'm disappointed that the plan doesn't have a side view with a section.
I'm pretty sure that he would have his covered it by now, but I'll ask and if it's possible I should at least be able to get some rough coordinates.

They were so common that quite a few must have survived in lofts and hanging on walls!

I've spoken to my mate and we have worked out a method of copying the section involving a bit of copper wire! It may take a few days to get around to it!!

FYI: Barry Baxter has plans for the Kutlass, also an Aussie combat wing, co-designed and kitted in the late '50's by my buddy Don Blackam. If y'all come up with the templates to complete the plans, please send Barry (or the plans purveyor of your choice) an accurate set for a master. Preserve it now, before it's too late. Steve

Edit: Barry Baxter's website is particularly neat, showing some sort of thumbnail for most designs. Also has a good selection of old stunt designs and sport models. http://www.controllineplans.com
