Brodak Fly In

Well, I am about recovered from our trip! It was a blast even with the bumps in the road that Aaron, and I, encountered in trying to get in respectable official flights in PAMPA Advanced! hahaha

Seeing all the old friends, and making new ones, is a great big part of this event.

Windy's story of the "little 7 year old boy" (himself) was endearing during his acceptance of the AMA HOF Award. Of course, Big Art did a great job of the Induction presentation.

Robert, Bob, Bobby, Mr. 1969 NATS, Stunt 1, Champione, Lampione's receiving his 1969 Open Stun trophy was also very touching. The secret had been kept from him for *several* months.
The trophy was an ACTUAL, UNUSED, trophy from the 1969 Nats that was found by one of AMA's workers. The original plan was to *reproduce* the trophy as near as possible to the original, but when a new, original one, was found, that made it all the better! Our own SSW Forum member, Chip Smith (Ghost Rider) has to be commended for going through the painstaking journey of making this possible for his friend.

There is way too much I can say about the Brodak Fly In experience, so I'll just give a GREAT BIG "Thank You" to John, Buzz, and ALL the great people that put this event on!!!!!

I'm blessed in that I only live about 100 miles away.
To bad Brodaks is only once a year!

I have my Katana cowl fixed allready. (Over heating) Time to finish the triming.

As always thankyou John and Buzz. I did find alot of goodtimes once again at Brodak. And I didnt even compete in Pampa this time. I took my little man with me ( Drew who is 6 ) and had him fly. On his third flight wednesday, Drew had his first complete solo flight. I am so proud of him. He then competed in beg. profile on thursday.
I was also able to help out a few people at Brodak, from pitting in clown racing to stunt events to plane repairs. This is the best funfly contest anyone will ever attend, just as long as that person knows how to have fun. If you are a stick in the mud this contest isnt for you and I would rather you just go to the nats and leave the fun to us at Brodak.
One last thing, I was able to see 2 of my friends receive recognition for what they have done in our cl family. Windy and the Hall Of Fame. And my close freind Watt Moore and the Spirit Award.
Thanks too all that made my son feel welcome and part of our ever growing family and watch out nextyear because his 4yr old sister will be there flying as well. Take care all. BAD ANDY

Thanks Roger, good to be back. And yes Team BA is up and coming. Hopefully by nextyear all of my team will be flying Avanti's. Not all 60 sized but all Avanti's non the less. Am currently working on a 25 size and 40 size for my childern. We shall see.

Also I have received several emails today from the sticks in the mud talking about my previous post. Just so you know since I didnt email you back, (much rather type here in front of all so there is no questions to what I have said). I have had the same ama number since I was 6 yrs old, 5 didgits, and I have competed in many nationals when they were traveling. The difference between the two are just this. I have always gone to the NATS to win and if I had fun after that then so be it, it became a great trip. I go to Brodak to have fun, hence the name- FUNFLY. What a concept huh? I like each and every person on this siteand i am not picking on anyone out right so please dont think that. But at the sametime dont bash any of my friends for what they believe or feel. Enough said by me.

I really enjoyed talking and seeing everyone at the funfly. Woody and Dave are always a HOOT. The Saunders team were once again about unstoppable. Dan B. wowed us all with his tiny building and huge flying. And new friends were made and will be remembered always. The Carolina Gang was once again present and a force to contend with. We will never forget little Oliva flying solo in front of the entire crowd. ps DREW thinks she is cute, much keep an eye on those two in the future. And then there is Ty M. ( my buddy ) who once again gets my hard luck award. You just had to be there. After all of that Ty still had alot of fun as always. Cant wait till nextyear. I will try to get my photos up tomorrow. hey andy get some combat planes ready too. and see if you can get tools moveing along on some combat planes too. this was only my second brodaks and it just keeps getting better wendy was right i think that 7 year old kid comes out when you get there. and as far as the people go you cant find a better bunch anywhere.
