Nice effort,and great color scheme! A pickery of nits, perhaps-but howcome the inner wing appears to be one rib longer than the outer, or is it my bifocals giving me trouble again? Thx

30 years ago I built a Top Flite Peacemaker and thought the plans were drawn wrong because it showed a longer inboard wing. I redrew the plans and built them equal, then someone told me the longer wing was supposed to develop extra lift to compensate for the weight of the lines. The chief plans showed a longer inboard wing so this time that's what I built.

Great looking Chief. I have finished my polly wog airfoiled Chief and used the paint scheme from a 1949 Air Trails. Got the colors right because one person wrote to Bob and got them and passed them on to me here on Stuka Forum. Two open cockpits and I could not resist, I put Elmer Fudd in the front and Daffy Duck in the back. I also found some copies of the original Veco decals, plus a Veco .35, Veco wheels, bell crank, control horns, spinner and prop. Go Veco.
One interesting note: I am building a 1952 MAN version of the Nobler also and since GMA was flying a Chief when he designed it, the Nobler, and was corresponding with Bob Palmer and stated in one of his interviews that the Nobler evolved from a Chief, I laid the Nobler over the Chief and lo and behold, the stab and elevator are exactly alike, except the Nobler tail is thicker!! Lots of other similarities too, and they are more alike than I believed. The "roots" are obvious. Kinda neat in a historical sense.
